How has your career changed, or have you committed to changing, through Nomad Academy's program Salma?
I began my career working with luxury hotel brands and before the program, I was leading Sales & Marketing for BeeVital, a global company focused on organic beekeeping solutions. In the past 1.5 years, the brand has experienced tremendous growth, and we recently received a European- wide registration for one of our products, so this has brought even more responsibilities to my role.
I decided to join Nomad Academy because I knew it would be beneficial for me to step out of my routine and strengthen my Digital Marketing skills so that I am more confident and focused towards scaling the growth of BeeVital. I’m also completing the Startup course this month so I can develop an effective relaunch strategy for the US market, tapping into the trend of sustainable urban beekeeping.
Biggest professional skill you’ve learnt in the past 3 months?
Discovering how to maximise my productivity, manage my time better and to stay focused in a constantly changing environment. When I return to my workplace, I’m looking forward to continue building on these healthy habits, like giving myself time to reflect and consistently set goals to push myself.
Biggest personal lesson?
Don’t limit yourself with expectations and embrace the unexpected moments and growth that come from new, challenging experiences.
What do you value most from the Nomad Academy experience?
Being surrounded by a community of driven, like-minded individuals who believe in me gives me so much confidence with what I want to put out there in the world. For example, I’d never shared my food and travel account on Instagram before but one of the goals I’ve set this month is to create more content and grow my audience for this passion project of mine, and the support I’ve had from the tribe has been so motivating.
